I know everyone’s freaking out, but the departure likely isn’t permanent. Halston was cast in a Netflix production that ended up filming concurrently with The Orville, so that accounts for a reduced appearance. Given the extremely positive fan reception of her character, it’s unlikely right now that she wouldn’t return at some point to her duties as the Orville’s Chief of Security.
Certainly this is just my hot take on it, but it seems like how the logic lines up.
It’s amazing how new yet familiar REmake 2 feels.
